The subtle softness of sponging makes for a sweet card to thank someone. I love sponging. This time I used the sponge brayer to make a background for my card. Adding layers to the card just gives a more polished appearance. You could use any sentiment for this card. I chose “thank you” because I like to send my customers a nice thank you card when they order from me. Maybe you could be the one who receives this card. Just go to “shop” at the top of this page to purchase from my 24/7 online shop.
Coastal Cabana cardstock: 5 ½” x 8 ½” and score at 4 ¼”; 5 ¼” x 1”
Whisper White cardstock: 5 ¼” x 4”; 4” x 2 ¾”; 3” x 2 ¼”
Basic Gray cardstock: 3 ¾” x 2 ½”
Using Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, and Pear Pizzazz Classic Inks and the Sponge Brayer sponge the largest piece of Whisper White cardstock in a vertical pattern.
On the smallest piece of Whisper White cardstock stamp the “Thank You” image, from the Detailed With Love stamp set, in the center using Pear Pizzazz classic ink. Also use the corner design in the same stamp set in each corner.
Wrap a piece of Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon around the smaller piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock using Snail Adhesive.
Attach the sponged cardstock to the card base. Attach the unstamped piece of Whisper White cardstock to the center of the sponged piece. Attach the Basic Gray piece to the Whisper White piece. Attach the Coastal Cabana piece (with the ribbon attached) over the Basic Gray piece and then attach the stamped piece of Whisper White.
I embellished the card with three the Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dots at the top. All Done!!
I just couldn’t wait to get the Animal Expedition Suite. I think it is so cute. I love giraffes so, of course, it was the first stamp I used from the set. This card reminds me of the time my daughter and I went to the Sacramento Zoo in California and fed the giraffes. That was so much fun. And of course, there is an amazing die set to go with the stamp set. I didn’t use dies for this card, but I will be using it for later cards. Keep watching. I hope you love giraffes as much as I do…have fun creating!
Smoky Slate cardstock: Cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and score at 4 ¼”; Use a scrap piece to cut a scalloped square using the Big Shot and the layered Square Framelits (I used the 2 ¾” square)
Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper (DSP): Cut at 5 ¼” x 4”
Whisper White cardstock: Using the Big Shot and the layered Square Framelits cut a square that fits nicely inside the Smoky Slate scalloped square
On the Whisper White square, stamp the giraffe image from the Animal Outing stamp set. I also stamped the edge of the leaf stamp but didn’t stamp the frog. I just wanted a bit of leaves around the giraffe. Color the giraffe and leaves using Stampin’ Write Markers. (You could also use Blends or watercolor pencils) I used Crumb Cake and Daffodil Delight for the giraffe and colored his ears with a pink. The leaves I colored in Call Me Clover. Stamp a sentiment on the right side of the giraffe. I used
”a little hello” from the Animal Outing stamp set. When done attach to the Smoky Slate square and then attach to the DSP using Stampin’ Dimensionals
Using Snail Adhesive, attach a piece of the Leaf ribbon to the top of the DSP (attach each end on the backside of the paper and wrap around. I had to use glue dots under a few leaves to keep them for being too bulky and from lifting too much. Then attach the whole piece to the Smoky Slate card base. All Done!!
